Board Master Training for Non-Profit Organizations

Non-profit founders, volunteers and paid staff for non-profit organizations are invited to attend the Board Masters training in Ord on Wednesday, October 24 from 4:30-8:30 pm.

The training and materials will be provided by Nebraska Extension and the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands and provide nonprofits all the latest information needed to keep organizations compliant and operating smoothly.

Mission & Vision, Board Structure & Meaningful Engagement
- Nonprofit organization lifecycles and nonprofit board stages 
- Mission, vision and strategic goals 
- Community relations 
- Committees 
- Board oversight vs. management  
Finances & Compliance 
- Reviewing bylaws
- Sarbanes-Oxley implications for nonprofits 
- Financial systems 
- Role of finance committee 
- Form 990
- Financial management responsibilities: board vs. staff
- Risk and crisis management 
Recruitment, Team Building, Continuous Improvement & Evaluation 
- Board member recruitment, onboarding and evaluation
- Fundraising expectations
- Board chair and Executive Director relationship 
- Succession planning 
- Basic board assessment and action planning 
- Improving board meetings 

Although not required, multiple people from your organization are encouraged to attend in order capitalize on brainstorming and ideas that evolve from the session and communicating it back to other members of your board or organization.

Registration fee: 
1 person per organization = $25/person 
2 people per organization = $23/person
3 people per organization = $21/person 
4+ people per organization = $19/person

Registration fees include dinner and all materials.
