Coder / Biller
Valley County Health System has a current position available for a full-time Biller/Coder to join our team. This position will work 40 hours per week in the Patient Financial Services department.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsibilities of the Coder/Biller include accurately coding and billing all financial classes in a timely manner, ensuring that payments are properly applied to individual accounts and assisting in processing secondary claims in a timely fashion in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Valley County Health System.
REQUIREMENTS: • Associate's degree is preferred, but not required • Professional Coding Certification is not required upon hire, but must be obtained within 2 years of hire • VCHS is willing to train the perfect candidate for coding duties • Business office experience with credit/coding is preferred •Independent problem-solving skills and self-directed work experience • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience with computers and other office equipment • Well organized and detail oriented
