Imaging Manager

Valley County Health System (VCHS) Imaging Department has an exciting opportunity available for an Imaging Manager to join our professional and dedicated healthcare team. This is a full-time position, working 32 hours per week in addition to a call rotation. 



POSITION SUMMARY: The Imaging Manager leads, monitors and maintains effective department operations in the area of Imaging, insuring effective and efficient department performance and high-quality service in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of VCHS. The Manager will oversee the department and its operations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 
· Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
· Must be familiar with the principals and practices of Radiation Technology as outlined by the State of Nebraska Health and Human Services
· Management experience preferred

REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates should possess independent problem-solving skills and self-directed work experience • Current CPR certification • Strong knowledge of and experience with computers •Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated excellent leadership skills • Must be familiar with the principals and practices of Radiation Technology as outlined by the State of Nebraska Health and Human Services.

DUTIES:
· Manages all aspects of department operations effectively and efficiently.
· Develops and documents department procedures to insure consistent and accurate processing.
· Performs accurate and safe operation of imaging equipment and follows established safety procedures in order to protect the patient and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure or unnecessary exams.
· Assesses the patient's condition accurately by determining patient's ability to comply with the physical requirements of the examination to minimize patient or examination problems. Provides competent, safe and effective patient care.
· Follows established radiation safety policies and procedures to protect patients and staff and performs in a manner that insures patient safety.
· Recruits and develops a qualified and productive workforce.
· Manages departmental financial operations.
· Performs and maintains documentation.
· Communicates effectively.
· Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
