About the Role
Zangger Popcorn Hybrids is seeking a motivated and hands-on Research & Sales Agronomist to join our team.
In this role, you’ll bridge research and field operations, collecting in-field data, conducting agronomic assessments, and supporting trials that drive product performance and quality. Working closely with our R&D and sales teams, you’ll help assess field issues, gather customer and grower feedback, and support sales efforts in both domestic and international markets.You’ll work across diverse cropping systems and specialty products, helping translate research insights into practical solutions that benefit both processors and growers.

Key Responsibilities
● Provide agronomic advice and recommendations on crop management, seed selection, fertilizer, chemical applications, and precision ag solutions.
● Support research trials and data collection to evaluate hybrid performance, quality traits, and production practices.
● Actively promote and sell company products and services to achieve sales targets.
● Conduct on-farm visits, soil sampling, and field scouting to monitor crop performance and identify issues.
● Stay informed on the latest agronomic practices, technologies, and industry trends to provide innovative solutions.
● Collaborate with internal teams to develop sales strategies, marketing programs, and grower events.
● Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and account management plans.
● Represent the company at trade shows, field days, and community events.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, AgriBusiness, or a related field preferred; a Master’s degree is a plus but not required. Equivalent education and/or relevant experience will be considered.
● 2+ years of agronomy, agricultural sales, or related experience preferred (may include internships, fieldwork, or hands-on experience gained while completing a degree).
● Strong agronomic knowledge and ability to translate it into practical, results-oriented solutions for growers.
● Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
● Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
● Proficiency with precision agriculture tools and basic computer applications.
● Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within the territory; CDL preferred or willingness/ability to obtain.
What We Offer
● Compensation: Base salary of $60,000–$80,000, depending on experience and performance.
