FREE Tree Pest Detector and Landscape Management Workshop
Tree Pest Detector Workshop (9:00 AM) A free, half day workshop which will train participants to be able to detect invasive tree pests including emerald ash borer, thousand cankers disease, spotted lanternfly, asian longhorned beetle, and more. Topics covered will be symptoms of infestation, associated tree identification, and survey reporting. In exchange for the training, participants agree to devote at least 3 hours of time surveying. This workshop is open to to the general public who are interested and have at least a basic understanding of trees and their pest Lunch On Your Own (12:00 PM) Tree and Landscape Management Workshop (1:30 PM) This free, half day afternoon workshop for public and private landscape practitioners is designed to discuss the components that bring lasting value and success to green spaces and trees. There will be lectures, discussion and hands on exploration of these concepts. Indoor session topics will include diversity of species, age and genetics; smart planting design; management concepts in pruning and planting. Outdoor session will include tree assessments, planting demo and walking tour/discussion
