SUMMARY:RKD Poker Run
DESCRIPTION:All vehicles welcome to join and support! Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. at Bridge Street Bar. Proceeds to help defray the cost of medical expenses for Tessa Rudichar. \n\n\n\nTessa Jade Rudichar is 17 years old and a Senior at Arcadia Public School. She has a kidney disease called Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis or F.S.G.S. She has been treated for this disease since she was 13. F.S.G.S. is scar tissue that forms in parts of the kidney called glomeruli. Tessa has been fighting this disease by taking transplant medication\, steroids\, blood pressure and cholesterol medication (a side effect from all of the toxins in her system)\, and diuretics for almost 5 years to try and slow this disease down. Another medication that she recently began is a monthly shot of Procrit\, usually used for cancer patients. This medication helps to bring up her hemoglobin\, but is extremely expensive. There are constant doctor and hospital visits and prescriptions to be filled. It had been doing great and raised her kidney function up to 41% in June but as of August her function is back down to 32%. At 20% kidney function she will have to be put on the transplant list and at 10% she will have to begin dialysis. There is no cure for this disease so a kidney transplant is inevitable.\n\nThank you all for your support. \n\n~ Chris\, Laura and Tessa Rudichar
